Key Active Ingredients & Their Actions:

• Fipronil (6.1% w/vol or 61 mg/ml):
  • Action: A broad-spectrum insecticide and acaricide belonging to the phenylpyrazole chemical family. Fipronil works by disrupting the central nervous system of insects and ticks, leading to hyperexcitation and death. It spreads across the skin via the natural oils and follicles.
  • Benefit: Rapidly kills fleas and ticks, including their eggs and larvae (in some formulations like Effitix Plus). It provides residual activity, continuing to kill new infestations for up to 4 weeks.
• Permethrin (54.5% w/vol or 545 mg/ml):
  • Action: A synthetic pyrethroid insecticide and acaricide. Permethrin acts as a neurotoxin to insects and ticks, causing paralysis and death. It is well-known for its repellent properties, which deter parasites from even landing on the dog.
  • Benefit: Provides powerful repellent (anti-feeding) action against mosquitoes and sandflies, significantly reducing the risk of bites and the transmission of vector-borne diseases like Leishmaniosis, Dirofilariosis (heartworm), and Babesiosis. It also has a killing effect on ticks, fleas, and chewing lice.

Recommended For:

• Treatment and prevention of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides spp.) on dogs. Kills fleas within 24 hours of treatment. Can be used as part of a treatment strategy for Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD).
• Treatment and prevention of tick infestations (Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor reticulatus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus) on dogs. Kills most ticks within 48 hours to a week. Indirectly reduces the risk of tick-borne disease transmission.
• Repelling (anti-feeding) and killing mosquitoes (Culex pipiens, Aedes aegypti).
• Repelling (anti-feeding) and killing sandflies (Phlebotomus perniciosus), reducing the risk of Leishmaniosis.
• Killing chewing lice.
• Aiding in the control of Sarcoptes mites that may cause sarcoptic mange (off-label use, consult vet).

Dosage & Administration:

• Route: Topical spot-on application directly onto the skin.
• Dosage: One pipette (applicator) delivers the precise dose for the dog’s weight range. Do not split applicators between dogs.
• Frequency: Apply once every 4 weeks (monthly). Do not apply more often than once per month.

1. Hold the pipette upright and break the seal at the top along the marked line.
2. Part the fur at the base of the dog’s head, between the shoulder blades, until the skin is visible.
3. Place the tip of the pipette on the skin. Squeeze the pipette firmly to apply the entire contents directly onto the skin. For larger dogs, apply the contents at 2-4 spots along the back, from the base of the head to the base of the tail, ensuring it’s directly on the skin.
4. Allow the application site to dry completely before touching. Do not allow your dog to groom or lick the application site for at least 24 hours after application.
5. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling the product.

Contraindications & Warnings:

• DO NOT USE ON CATS OR RABBITS. PERMETHRIN IS EXTREMELY TOXIC TO CATS AND CAN BE FATAL. If you have both dogs and cats, ensure treated dogs are completely dry and separated from cats for at least 24 hours (or longer, consult your vet). If a cat comes into contact with the product or licks a treated dog, seek veterinary attention immediately.
• Do not use on dogs or puppies less than 8 weeks of age or weighing less than the specified minimum weight for the product size.
• Do not use on sick (e.g., systemic diseases, fever) or convalescing animals.
• Do not use if the dog is known to be hypersensitive to fipronil, permethrin, or any other ingredients.
• Consult a veterinarian before using on medicated, debilitated, aged, pregnant, or nursing dogs, or dogs known to be sensitive to pesticide products.
• Individual sensitivities, while rare, may occur. Monitor your dog after application for signs of irritation (redness, scratching) or gastrointestinal signs (vomiting, diarrhea). If persistent or severe, bathe the dog with mild soap and water and contact your veterinarian.
• Avoid bathing the dog within the first 24 hours after application.
• Do not allow children to apply the product or come into contact with the treated area until dry.
• Extremely toxic to aquatic organisms. Do not allow treated dogs to swim in watercourses for at least two days after application. Dispose of used applicators and packaging responsibly.
